I rescently went through the same scenario however I was also considering a 9-5 aero wagon as well

After driving DaveN's viggen & a 9-5 wagon I new I wanted the 230-250HP. My fiancee & I decided on the viggen for a few reason.

MUCH better seats as well as interior
power
handling
& finally looks

My brother has a 98 SET which is a great car however I did not want something that was slower then my modified beater SPG. Like others stated I could purchase a 9-3 SE & then spend X,XXX's bringing it closer to viggen HP however I would of still been short the sportier suspension as well as the nicer interior. Now that I have a viggen I have no regrets & I payed $20K for a 2K 5 dr with 40K miles, I gave it a 9.9/10 when I inspected it.

I think $25K is a good price especially with the warantee to 100K. That is my only regret with viggen is that in 1700 miles my factory warante will expire.

The yokohama H4's are unfortunantly a cheap all season tire. Have you driven the car?? I had the yokoham ES100's on my viggen when I purchased the car which is several steps above the H4's & well, the ES100's SUCK! The sidewall is VERY soft which made torque steer horrible!

Finally, if the roads are bad at all in your part of the world the viggen wheels are VERY soft! I haven't bent any yet however I did purchase 2 spare ones just in case
