would this be a private party sell or SAAB dealership? If latter, make sure that it is certified pre-owned and go for an extended warranty, if applicable. If former, get the maintenance history since that will tell you if the car is maintained or not. Hence, you could bear the brunt of replacing the wear and tear items. Like Joshua noted, this is a niche car; hence, parts and labor are expensive. You have to follow the scheduled maintenance. In my case, I budget at least $2,000 per year for whatever but I have a 94 900, the first year of this body style. SAAB perfected the use of turbocharging and, most importantly, the car is designed to save your life!!! Trust me, I was in an accident last week.
