Interesting, I tend to think the rubber gasket may be worn- I ordered a replacement from CK Paden last year but never felt the need to install it. I will set up some time for the installation at my local SAAB dealer and let you know. The original Clamp is over two years old and for the money, it has served me well. I would imagine the wear and tear on such a device is significant especially over broken pavement.Frankly, if all I had to do was torque some bolt heads once a month, I could deal with a 10 minute fix. Getting access to the bolt heads however requires a wratchet set and some dexterity. Not sure a lift is required to access the low bolt as it can not be seen from the top of the engine bay.
The improvement from the clamp is so dramatic and so worthwhile on a car that is bought and paid for that I can't imagine it would not be worthwhile getting a new clamp from CK Paden. Hell I go through tires every 15K and I have to pay to get these mounted at the SAAB dealer so the indy do not overtorque my lug nuts and cause my brake rotors to warp. You seldom save money with a DIY or indy shop unless you and they specialize in SAABs.
