I have been through this problem. The "Saab" oil drain pan plugs are really soft. When mine stripped I took it into a local garage who lossened it for me and showed me the proper method for removing it.
Get the vise grips as tight as you can possible sqeeze them down on the plug. Take them off. Tighten them a little more. Try to get it on there again, and when you are just thinking you cant get it throw all you have into it and it will go. If not, get a friend to help you sqeeze. Then hit it with an open palm or a rubber mallot while steadying it with your hand. I have found that your palm works way better than a mallot. This worked for me on a completly round drain plug. I got a replacement at NAPA for like 3 bucks including a nylon washer.
Good luck
