Ok, so it was a ball joint that was the issue the first time and then a bushing the other time?
If it was the very inner bushing in the control arm, that one comes with the control arm. If it was the one that the stanchion arm is attached to, it can be replaced separately.
So it kind of comes down to if he used genuine Saab part the first time or an after market control arm. Technically, the repair is beyond the standard 12month/12K mile warranty that most shops give.
If he used an aftermarket control arm the first time and charged full retail price, he should give some goodwill warranty since they are not as good as the genuine ones and some are stinking bad.
If he used genuine ones, it is not much he can do since it might be driver error that has ruined the bushing.
It's a tough situation and I can't say what scenario that apply.
