Hello all. I'm 16 years old and my first car is... drum roll please ...a 1999 SAAB 9-3 SE. I love this car, but I have a few questions about it and I was wondering if anybody here could help me.
Mysterious Button: I was cleaning my car out (again) and discovered a button beneath the gas pedal - what's that for?
Speakers: I don't know if it's just me, but has anybody noticed the speakers on this car are kind of sub-par? The deeper tones don't seem to convey hardly at all, and anything in the treble range sounds tinny to me. Is there a fix for this?
Emblems: I bought replacement Griffin logos for the hood and trunk of my car, as well as clear shielding to protect them, but I was wondering if anybody had any experience replacing them. Apparently they are just glued on... what would you use for glue?
Viggen?: I keep reading about Viggen models - I think they're performance-enhanced versions of the 'regular' models. Are the differences big? Is a Viggen upgrade possible? Is it feasible?
Care: Are there any insider tips on keeping my beloved in tip-top shape?
Direct Ignition: When I took my car to Viking Automotive (AMAZING place - lifelong customer) to get the Direct Ignition module replaced, they replaced it with a black one that doesn't quite seem to be made for the engine from a cosmetic perspective. Elk parts has both versions on their website (the red and the black one) and says that the red on is for vehicles equipped with Trionic 5 and the black one is for vehicles equipped with Trionic 7.
My question is - what's the difference between Trionic 5 and 7? What IS Trionic anyway?
Clubs: Does anybody know of a Young SAAB owner club, or a sAAB club in Southern Maryland?
Thanks in advance for your help.
-Ian
