I found the speaker cones on my door-mounted speakers had simply rotted away in my '95 900SE. You can replace them yourself w/a little bit of difficulty yourself. If you use someone like Crutchfield to supply the speakers, you'll get some help from them you may need. Also, if want more bass, you can easily replace the 6x9 speakers that hsould be in the back of your car. Again, the actual depth of any replacement speakers is very important, so not all 6x9's will work. A quality set of new 6x9's will set you backa bit; yet, they should provide more-than-adequate bass. However, if you're like a lot of your peers & you want ground-sahking reverb, you'll need to pruchase a subwoofer & install it. That "upgrade" may require an entirely new stereo, unless you can find info on how to so it elsewhere.
Probably the closest Saab clubs to you are the clubs in DC (not sure it's active) or the one up in central PA. I live in MD, but I don't have any info about one here.
Finally, since Viking did you no favors by supplying the wrong module, if you want an outstanding, honest shop, I strongly recommend API in Hanover MD (just past Arundel Mills shopping center). Kevin's the Saab tech there, & he's superb! When I pruchased my Saab, he pointed out a number of things another 'supposedly reputable' shop had done in error. Since that first visit to API, my 900SE been running like a charm. You can reach API at 410-579-8422. You may want to have them give your SE the once-over.
Good luck!
