I'd seen notes earlier about which direction it went but after way too much time, I was just frustrated. I knew better and regretted not spending the time finding the direction on my own almost immediately... Thus the post 20 minutes later indicating it was off. Once I found the barrel adjuster, I was actually able to figure out the direction by seeing the threading.
Behind all of this though was that the first 2-3 sets of directions I found either omitted the step of retracting the emergency brake, vaguely referred to it, or seemed to indicate a 9-5 was the same as a 9-3 and seemed to show the adjuster at the top of the wheel. I may have read that part wrong or misinterpreted the photos but I spent hours trying to find it at the top of the wheel, all the while telling myself it just shouldn't be this hard!
All that said, please accept my apologies for my faux pas and sincere thanks for your quick reply and great set of instructions. They were far more detailed and the best I found. I just wish I'd found them far earlier!
