I second the heat shields. The rearmost one on my '01 came loose after rotting away from the stud it was bolted to, and it made an awful rattling sound inside the car at very low speeds. As soon as I got moving the sound went away.
When I went to try to reattach it using a large washer to span the rotted material, I found that the nut was rusted to the stud and I ended up breaking that off too! Instead I made a little aluminum bracket that I secured with nuts onto one of the fuel tank strap ends, and then bolted it to the heat shield through a freshly-punched hole. Since then I've heard it rattle maybe once or twice in the last six months, and only for about a second at a time.
Now I suspect one of my exhaust clamps is leaking, and the way I could tell was to listen carefully while shutting the car off with the door open. Sure enough, there was a telltale sputtering sound as the engine died, and it was coming from near where the flex pipe and resonator meet.
