Hi Eric, NO I did not purchase the warranty. I bought the car in Portland and live in Chicago. I really don't think the dealer knew a whold lot about the car, unless they were playing dumb. The car is very clean. I'm going to follow many of the suggestions from you and other posters. I'll change to synthetic this weekend and check in to the PCV#6 update.I'm also going to pull the valve cover and check that out for sludge. I do know that Automic Auto in Portland checked it out and noted that the Oil Pressue switch was leaking so maybe that would cause a drop in oil pressure and an alarm. It only came on under a quick turn to the right or left when I turned in to a parking lot after running at 85 MPH down the interstate all day. The CarFax report says that it had regular maintenance with no big problems noted. I'll keep everyone informed as the what I find.
