Hi Tim, Thanks so much for the helpful information. What you said was confirmed today by one of the mechanics at Atomic Auto in Portland. He had a customer that had the same engine as the my Viggen and it would burn a quart every 1000 miles. They changed all the seals and it still leaked. Finally when the customer came in one day for his top off it wasn't leaking any more. The guy thinks because my car was not run alot that a piston ring may have some gunk that is allowing oil to seep by and I'm burning it off at high speed. I don't see any leaks nor do I see any smoke. I'll make sure it has a new oil change with synthetic. Apparently this guy changed the oil pretty regularly in the car but it wasn't driven alot. Will also pull the valve cover to see if it's gunked up in there. Thanks again for the info on your BMW with possibly the same problem.
