*sigh*
Everything was just as it should be. No chunks of anything in the oil, nothing on the magnetic drain plug. Oil was in excellent condition. No sludge at all, pickup screen perfectly clean.
Great...sort of. Still don't know what is causing the noise.
Now I just need to decide whether or not to cut the balance chain to determine whether or not the noise is being caused by something connected to the balance chain.
