Steering Rack Brace, Rear Anti-sway, & Trans Mount Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Tue, 29 Apr 2014 17:23:37 In Reply to: Re: Moving over from the 9000 board., Ryan [Profile/Gallery] , Tue, 29 Apr 2014 16:59:20 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I did all three on one afternoon in three hours time working just off ramps. I strongly recommend all three. It is difficult to tell what benefit comes from replacing the rear anti-sway with a bigger bar, but since it is often packaged with the steering rack for elimination of the horrendous torque steer I recommend doing this too. The sport transmission mount from GenuineSaab makes a big improvement with shifter feel. The mount is a beast and once you see it you will understand the price.
You can do the steering rack brace from the top side with all four wheel on the ground. Just spray the two nuts with PB Blast or equivalent for a few days before replacing the old clamp to eliminate the risk of damaging an old fastener - which don't get reused anyway.
If you are having oil weep from the timing case gasket you may need to install PCV Kit #6. Take a look at your oil fill tube with the engine cover removed. If you see a hose connected to a plastic barbed fitting on the oil fill tube your car already has PCV #6. If not, add this kit too.
