Good day Devin,
Like you we are Saab owners. My wife and I had have owned C900's, C900T's, NewGen 900 (worst Saab ever), OldGen 9-3SE (2002) and a Current 9-3 (2007).
By far our favorite one has been the OldGen 9-3SE. Only 115,000 miles and going strong. However, we never miss an oil change or scheduled maintenance. The only "big" repair items include; Throttle Housing (twice), Water Pump, Drive Belt Pulley, Wheel Bearings, Brakes and the front windshield has been replaced twice.
I would stay away from the Viggen's. We love the lines but we have NEVER EVER met or heard of anyone who did not ALWAYS have trouble with these.
i'm not sure this has helped but at least you know we love our 9-3SE ;)
Good luck,
James
