As an original owner of 01'93SEHOT with 201K, I definitely agree on the sludge factor. There has been a recall on the steering rack, but that seems to be it that I know of. I think if the car was well taken care of, Viggen or 93SE, on the outside,--chances are better the motor was kept up as well. I still have the original Throttle Body, transmission (auto) and Turbo by the way. But I have replaced; Rear Main Seal, Head Gasket, DIA, MAP, APC, ABS Mod., Radiator, Pwr. Steering Hoses, Belts & Pulleys, Fuel Pump (2x's), Vacuum Lines and hoses, Mufflers (2), CD Player & SID Display to name the most expensive. The front suspension is definitely my next expense along with new head bolts. The salt in the east is definitely a killer on the rear wheel wells and under the radiator. If you can see the car in the flesh first, that certainly would be big help to you. Good Luck in your findings.
