Tough call but I guess you've made your decision by now. When my cable failed, I could feel it about to happen over a period of a few minutes but I didn't realize it until too late. And it was in the area of that cone. Maybe the cone just absorbs vibration, don't know. If me, I'd probably go for it and if I didn't make it, then call AAA. Yes, new cable. No duct tape, no JB Weld, no rubber bands. Only $20. Hope your safely home now!
