I don't remember the exact size rivets (maybe 5/32" or 3/16"?), when you buy a new regulator it comes with new rivets. Drilling out the first one was a bit scary, you just had to be careful not to lose control of the drill in a fairly constrained space. For reinstalling I had to borrow a heavy duty hand riveter tool, the wimpy one I had for cherry-type rivets wasn't strong enough. The folks at Taliaferro should be able to tell you the rivet size. Alternatively, you could substitute machine screw and nuts for the rivets when you re-install...
