Like any car in its first year of production, 94's had their extra problems. Most stuff was reacalled and some things were jsut not avail (keyless entery for instance). But overall, a the vast majority of these cars are identical to a '95 or '96. I bought mine with 45k and have 85k now. i love it. for the bucks, there's hardly a better combination of luxury, performance and soul. And fyi, all turbo's in 1994 were coupes, SE's and 5 speeds. I've put my fare share in for repairs and spent a bit too much making the car perfect after i bought it (like near $500 installed to replace a headlight wiper motor that i didn't realize was busted when i bought the car.) But going overboard aside, i doubt i've spent a disproportinate amount considering my milage and usage compared to comperable '95 and '96 owners. I'd list things i've had done, but it's too late now and this is getting long (what's new)
i'd recommend a '95 solely for the keyless entery and power door lock button. i'd really recommend a '97 as they had several upgrades (including newer shift linkage, better brakes, better seats including lumbar and one other fairly important thng that escapes me right now. But if you fine a nice '94 and the price is right and you can live with out factory keyless, then go for it. Just make sure all recalls were/are performed (many don't apply to 900SET's as they came a bit later in production- they weren't even in the inital printing of the 1994 model line)
she's a great car, never taken any oil (just swithced to Mobil 1) and is a ton of fun to drive (altho not always for the right reasons)
if it feels right go for it, otherwise look on.
