Since I bought the car used at about 55,000 miles, I guess my question is, how the heck am I supposed to KNOW that I've got to get the thing in for a belt replacement at a certain time? I mean seriously, I've got bells and whistles, and sirens going off in this thing to tell me when a bulb is out, when my fluids are low, or when anything else is amiss. I've got a sticker reminding me when my next oil change is. I've got cautionary warnings about the airbags and restraint system. Even, for those who are REALLY lost, a reminder by the fuel gauge that the car only takes unleaded. But nowhere to be found in the records I have, is any indication to get the sonofabitch in for a belt replacement every 30 or 60 thousand miles. As much damage as this causes, it should be emblazoned on the windshield!!!
Thanks again for all your responses and for letting me vent. Nothing a little Stoli can't take care of. Have a great day!
