I LOVED driving my Dad's 95 SET...I have a die-hard Honda friend tell me that the cost to maintain a Saab is astronomical (his stepfather has one). I can afford the price of the car, I just want to be able to keep it running in tip-top shape.
I currently use Mobil 1 in my Ford, so that isn't a shocker. I have done aftermarket suspensions and intake/exhaust work to the last two cars I've owned, so that's cool not a problem.
At what mileage is the next "big" scheduled maintanence at? What do they do?
With a lot of the "scheduled" maintanences (at least on my previous cars) it's been things like checking the belts, rotating the tires, changing the oil, checking fluids, cleaning the throttle body, and other such things. I can do all of those myself. However, if, say, something breaks (such as the fuel pump – just for example), I assume that the parts and labor would be a lot more than a Honda. However, I suppose you have to expect that with a European car, right?
