When buying a used Saab you must go into it knowing that you are buying into expensive maintenance, especially if you are not a DIY'er. And, OEM parts are expensive. Buy parts from Andrews, eEuroparts or other online vendors you see on this site and do your own work if able. And, read the posts on this site everyday. It helps you diagnose any problems.

I have had a 95 NG900 V-6 for two years now, with 72,000 miles. I've had to do the following: front brakes pads and rotors, rear brake pads, middle and rear mufflers, timing belt replacement and antenna mast. Struts and mounts are next. I'm not a DIY'er so the dealer does the work. Fortunately, they let me bring in Andrews-purchased mufflers, because even the service adviser couldn't bring himself to make me pay $500 for OEM parts when I could get them from Andrews for about $200. On the flip side though, they wouldn't do the timing belt for free without the expensive scheduled maintenance being done at the same time. Good luck, but keep your wallet ready.
