If you can - wash you car in the shade. Hot paint can be a bit softer and make it more prone to scratching. Hot paint also dries faster, and may leave more residue as the water evaporates.
If you have a water softener, be sure it's working properly. Hard water stains can be a PITA to deal with. I have a small squeege I use on the glass to help prevent spotting and streaking. I don't have to use nearly as much window cleaner (get Stoner's Invisible Glass for window cleaner).
