Called CVS just a second ago, asked to speak with the woman who confronted me outside earlier today about taking pictures. The woman patched me right through. Apparently she must have been bragging to her fellow coworkers, because the woman who I got first on the phone knew exactly who she was. I didn't even need to give a physical description or anything, lol!
She picked up and boasted out an aggressive "Yes?"
I told her I spoke with some people with law brackgrounds (Mike H, that's you... anyone else who responded have a law background?) and that "taking pictures from the exterior of a building is completely legal. For future reference if someone is in your store taking pictures you can confront them, so please never approach me outside of CVS again."
I also read back the little blurb to her that "Not just playing 1 on TV" posted...
"Above referenced copyright act section as well as common law invasion of privacy/publicity and trade secret doctrine make it clear you cannot use state or federal law to prevent people from taking pictures of a building exterior, from a perspective that is itself a fully public place."
She sounded as if she got hit by a dumptruck, and barely mumbled out "Th-th-th-thank you." There was a second of silence, and she took a breath as to start speaking, I said "No, thank you for the picture." and hung up before she said anything.
So to those who replied... thank you ( :
Happy SAABing!
Taylor
