Actually, Saab sells the same car as far as warranty and emissions go in both Canada and the US. They simply couldn't afford to seel two kinds of cars, when the Canadian market is only a coupple of thousand cars a year.
I've moved a Saab from Canada to the US in the past. It was trivial. US Customs in Minneapolis took a quick look, used a mirror to make sure the cat was in place and that was it.
The car is made by GM and is considered a 'domestic'. And yess, I had to get a new speedo (actually a garage in Minnetonka gave me mile stickers to paste on the speedo face).
