I agree that they should have their program details in order the first time you called. I would think this would be the same response at many car dealerships on their top of the line, low inventory car. Try getting any dealer in the nation right now to give up their 9-3SS Vector. Fat chance - and that's not saying that the dealers are treating customers poorly, it's just a matter of circumstance. Saabs are selling well right now and the Vectors are hard to come by so I would have to question a dealer's judgement to be lending out a Vector when it would more likely sell if it was around on the lot. In this case, I think a dealer has to do what's best for the dealership... and it may cost one customer. I'm hoping this dealership will learn from its mistake with you... and yes, they made a big mistake. They didn't treat you straight on the first phone call. They've lost your business for sure!
