I honestly don't feel that Stevens takes many cheap shots. He certainly lines people up for devastating open ice hits, but so do many players, and I disagree that his intent is to injure. If a forward is skating with his head down or turned in the other direction, the hit is going to do a lot more damage than if they see it coming and can brace for it. I was at the game when he laid out Lindros, and he clearly took no pleasure from seeing Lindros hurt.
Stevens is no offensive superstar to be sure, but to call him a single dimensional player, you're overlooking some of his most important qualities IMHO. How about leadership, toughness, experience, the intangibles that helped the Devils win two Game 7's this year? There's a reason that the Devils use the defensive pairs they do. Stevens and White are defensive minded, while Rafalski and Neidermeyer take care of the offense.
I completely agree about Ozolinsh though. He was, hands down, the best defenseman for the Ducks during the Finals. Carney was great too, but I thought Ozolinsh was better. Being on the east coast, I don't get a chance to watch him much, but I'll defnitely be keeping an eye out for him next year.

(obviously a little biased, waiting for the Devils parade to be announced :)
