Its just too bad it has to come to this... I had a _very_ bad experience with a Saab dealer buying a CPO car (a story which I haven't told on Saabnet). It was sad that I wrote Saab USA and got a "our dealers are independtly owned and operated...." BS tagline despite the fact that the car was a CPO which didn't come close to meeting the standards (pages of validating evidence). It was clearly one of the "chuck it on the lot" cars described below. I was very disappointed in Saab USAs response to say the least. My only recourse was to sue the dealer, but the dealer finally gave in on a few high dollar items and I am not going to waste my time on the rest...just thank god I have a warranty.
One of the problems with selling used Saabs from Saab dealers is perception, whether Saab USA wants to recognize this or not. There is no formal feedback loop on sales of used cars with Saab USA -- not even a CPO Saab. I urged Saab USA to take a feedback loop into consideration, at least with the CPO program so that the type of stuff that happened to me (and in this case cljosh) can be heard and not tolerated. Saab needs to understand the customer touch points on both new and used. Based on my converstation with the executive offices of Saab I don't see this changing...
Its too bad it has to come down to the internet as a medium for change and airing of issues. Thankfully we do have Saabnet! If only I could get Saab USA to listen...
