We've all voiced concern about GM's lack of appreciation for the loyal enthusiast wing of Saab. Paranoically or reasonably, we've all at least felt that GM threatens Saab's identity, and that future models may be indistinguishable from so many Luminas. Cutting off Taliferro only compounds our worst fears.

Nick, and for that matter, everyone at Taliaferro, has made a name for GenuineSaab based on the sorts of things the "Saab Core" value highly - enthusiasm for the product, steadfast dedication to quality, technical knowledge, and probably the rarest trait of all, the integrity and patience to explain and discuss Saab tech stuff clearly, even when it may not appear efficient to do so. Taliaferro also has that perfect "feel" for the right balance of utility/looks/price for our upgrades. I've often found myself hoping tht Saab USA was listening to dealers such as Taliaferro in deciding on how to best (and therefore most long-term profitably) expand and serve its customers.

This decision doesn't just hurt a dealer we all admire and enjoying doing business with. It deprives Saab itself from a source of much-needed feedback, thereby affecting, probably in a very negative way, the future direction of the brand.

Frankly, where else is Saab going to gain a coherent view of the US Saab tuner market? Is this GM telling us that the Saab core "costs" the brand broader market appeal, and that we should be ignored for GM to profit from its purchase? I've had a good experience at a Saab-Caddy dealer, but my long-term enthusiam (and willingness to recommend Saabs to my friends) comes more from guys like Nick.
