Got up before the alarm. Strolled into the ballroom for a large tasty breakfast. Went to John Moss's tech session on Saab electronics. Heard the prepsentation about the 9-2, 9-7 and 9-3 sport hatch. Even got to ask a silly question on if they were planning on a trubo Aero version on the 9-7. Afterwards out into the parking lot to finish my people's choice voting. Such a beautiful day to have been out looking a all those old and modified Saabs. Test drove an '04 9-5 wagon w/paddle shift on a nice twisty road I found south of the Penn State Milton Hershey hospital. Back with the 9-5, turned in my votes and sat eating lunch in the shade of my hatch whatching people dyno their cars. And that was all before 12:30pm!! The I went inside to the "Bear's Den" sports bar to Watch the Ohio St. game and at the start of the second half who comes in to have himself a beer? None other that Erik Carlsson who sits at the table next to mine. (That's my hightlight... college football, beer and Eirk Carlsson all in the same place... I near passed out.;) After the game (which SDST should have won) it was time to get in line for drive over for the group photo. I was lucky enough to get behind Chuck Christ in his bright orange '60 93F. Getting to see, hear and smell that sroker out on the streets was great. Back to the lodge in a caravan of a couple hundred Saabs. Relax a little before dinner. Had a good dinner and Burt gave a decent keynote speech. The awards presentations could have been quicker but those guys are volunteers not professional convention hosts so it's no biggie. Night topped off by the annoucement of the Lunatic Fringe convention in Idaho next spring/summer. Tom siad there will be a prize for most rusted Saab. I'm going to will that if I have to knock off the bondo with a hammer to prove Heidi's got 17 Ohio salt filled winters under her belt.
See you all at LF'04
