1) The convention was not started 21 years ago with the explicit idea of providing you a deal on parts nor is that the concept behind the parts tent. The parts tent is there to provide a revenue stream to help pay for the convention and this year generated over $50k for the SCNA.
2) While it's a little shady for the sponsor to be swopping on deals and reselling them the convention is so much more than just a parts tent. I got to see great cars, sit in on a tech session with John Moss and have a beer with Erik Carlsson. The parts tent? That's just one thing of many and if the only reason you have to come to the convention is getting a steal of a deal on a part then perhaps you should find something else to drive.
3) I'm having a real problem with you, a person who was planning on sneaking into the convention using someone else's pass - in essence stealing from the SCNA - and then not evening showing up thinking they have the right to complain about an event they neither paid for or attended.
4) There is only a small group of people that year after year give up great amounts of their time for free to put the convention together with a help of a local club. This is not a professional organization. If you feel there is something being missed how about working as a volunteer for the club and working to correct it?
5) Your complaint seems to center around how, after the sponsor cherry-picked the parts tent is wasn't worth your time to go. But the parts tent opened at 9am on Friday and you weren't going until Saturday. What are you smoking that you think there'd have been anything good leftover on Saturday if it only hadn't been for that evil cherry-picking sponsor? Sponsors or not you have to be there when the door opens and not whining that no one left you anything good the next day.
