I too drive my car as much as possible, BUT I do not drive it in the winter.
Why, because I've spent a ton of cash on this car and don't want it to rust any faster than it is.
So, does not driving it in the winter have the same feeling as trailing someone else's money pit around. It depends....
I can see why someone would not want to drive their car on a long drive.
1st. If it's a super rare saab with low mileage, the value would go way down (Not that it's that high anyways!)
2nd. They spent $30K+ and 3 years restoring it, they don't want to take a chance of getting into an accident.
3rd. It's a brand new car and they aren't sure about the reliability.
4th. They don't want to spend 8 straight days detailing the car for the next convention.
5th. Some maintenance parts are hard to come by and expensive, therefore not driving it keeps these parts good.
I'm sure most of these people drive their cars, just not the amount of miles a daily driver gets.
