directed 6th sense. That was good, but his next two movies were each progressively less interesting.
Other than the fact that all of the actors in the Matrix series are aging (like the rest of us), it would have been much better if they had let the third installment develop naturally rather than force it to grow it in a cinematic "hothouse" just to get it done and save themselves some bucks. But that's the way the industry does it.
The Star Wars comparison is good, except that I don't feel that it aged well. Rewatching the original Star Wars, IMO, it has a lot of good things going on but, in some ways, it's as tacky and unsubtly staged as the Buck Rogers serials and horse operas that it was modelled on. And I went to see it 6 times when it came out.
On the other hand, these epic film series do retain a special place in our minds.
