Rust was an ongoing problem but other than that, what a great car. Once, while I was still in school, my father was suddenly brought to the hospital... I was told it was serious get home ASAP. I sped the 350 miles from college to N.O. in just over 3 1/2 hours. No kidding. Got stopped once and when the cop heard I was rushing to Dad's side, he called ahead and "cleared the way". After that I've never begrudged a cop for stopping me... I figured I used up enough karma on that run. Running 85 - 95 on old federal highways and 110 - 125 on interstates was not nerve wracking 'cause that car was glued to the road. What an engine! What a gearbox! What a tight suspension! I loved that car! When I finally got to N.O. and parked the car, the engine idled as if I had just started her up.
Cheers! and Merry Christmas!
