I had a 1986 Spider Graduate that was a rustbucket and a mint 1991 red Veloce convertible. I had to sell the Veloce when my son was born for financial reasons (it paid for a year of day care). This year I wanted a convertible again and "came home" to Saab and bought a 1987 900 turbo convertible because it has a back seat my son's car seat can fit into.
I loved the Alfa but I have to say I love the Saab even more. Both are timeless designs in my opinion. My Saab has 84,000 on it and my Veloce had about the same. The other advantage of the Saab is the power top.
I guess it all depends what you want to do with it.
