Alex,
Don't freak. From Parsippany (safe as milk), just head east on 280, get off at ML King exit, take right, continue straight down MLK. ECCC/Rutgers are on MLK. You could park in the St. Michaels Hospital lot on MLK, which you'll pass on your way to the campus, but it'd be a long walk.
Don't worry about that particular neighborhood. It's an urban college setting. Just be street smart. Tell the lot attendant that insurance prohibits anyone from parking your car. I worked as a drug rep in Newark for 30 years. Only lost a few sets of hubcaps.
Just watch out for *insane* driving. Buses, wino's, boy racers in Civics, police activiy. The usual city ambiance.
Alternatively, park at one of the shopping centers on Rte 46 in Parsippany and take a cab in.
Take your crew down to Ferry street for some good Spanish/Portuguese at Fornos/Spain/Tony DaCaneca's/Spanish Pavillion. You can't miss.
We'll look for your pics in the Star Ledger. You'll be OK.
Greg
