Well, maybe there was a misunderstanding here, I didn't mean to sound like I was "cracking on Chevy." I'm sure the engine is all those things you say, and it's great to see the american brands catching up with the European and Japanese competition, though not quite there yet. And yes, the innovative features are impressive--that's why this whole thread began of course, because of the sliding rear seats. However, I would like to see very different styling actually--but that's my personal opinion, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
However, I disagree that "snob appeal" is a factor in my purchasing of Saabs in the past...if I was looking for "snob appeal" I would be driving a Mercedes, Porsche, BMW, Lexus, luxury SUVs etc....I think Saab is in many ways the "anti-snob" car. You can get all the performance, luxury, beautiful styling you could ever want in a car, yet Saabs are a unique, different alternative to the more popular, status symbol luxury brands.
