Hey guys,
I'm currently in the IT field, computer programming. My job is pretty lousy, both in pay, and in stimulation. I'm hardly even doing any more programming, and find myself doing more tech support, and random monkeywork, as my company is small.
I stopped by a SAAB dealer today to check out some new SAABs (I have a '99 9-3). I noticed they only had one SAAB salesman. I jokingly asked if they needed another guy, and that I know alot about the cars. The salesmen got the manager, and they said they do. Then, I mentioned that I have a full-time job, and would be interested in part time, as a 2nd job. He said they only hire full time people. So that was that.
Got me thinking though. My current job is a dead end, unless it helps me get a better job in the same field. What I do know is, I want to go back to school for a graduate degree. Maybe in a year or 2, and I do not know what exactly I want to go back for at this point, but I know I want to go back, I want a higher degree, and I love learning. So, it then occured to me that selling SAABs could be a cool job to have until I decide what I want to do and go back to grad school. However, its totally unrelated to my degree. Whats the job like? Would it be career suicide for me? (I'm 23 btw)
Thanks for any input guys.
