Knowing about the product is only half of the responsibility needed to sell effectively. Even though its only part time and its not cars, the basics of inter-person interactions and knowing what and what not to say are similar. You have to know how to cheat and lie and be able to do it to all people; nice, pissy, young, old, fat, skinny, savy, dumb....etc. All that and be able to do it with a winning smile and smooth small-talk. It would probably be fun to do it full time if you enjoy what you're selling. Its something I think about a lot, since my sales numbers are consistently high, but I don't wanna be locked into something like that forever. It gets good when you own your own dealership tho...
