will be Shell's premium "automobile brand" oil and Rotella will be Shell's premium "truck brand" in the USA. Shell will (probably through QS and PZL) offer GM LL 025 A spec oil when GM starts specifying same on Chevies. So long as the LL 025 spec is restricted to Opel and Saab cars, for sure they're not going to bother selling it here. I suspect Mobil was enticed into labelling their own 0W-40 with the GM spec as a concession in exchange for being the OE supplier to Saab - note that the LL 025A spec is conspicuously absent from Mobil 1 0W30, even though Mobil supplies Saab Turbo 0W-30. VW is currently being sued b/c their latest diesels require VW Diesel Spec oil, but that oil is available only at VW dealers. Per the Moss Magnusson act, that means they have to give it away free (which they don't).
Anyway, there are a good dozen oils available in Europe that meet GM LL 025A, including oil from Castrol, Shell, Mobil, Agip, and others. I've seen the list lately but can't find it any more :-(
