that GM was building strictly for the Electric Utility industry. This vehicle had some of the same features as the EV-1 but was far more practical, (i.e. the full bed was available for cargo).
Fantastic acceleration! Nail the accelerator pedal and you would leave black stripes on the roadway. Top speed was OK but not great at ~75mph, range was a disappointing 150 miles but at the time would have been very acceptable for my 15 mile daily roundtrip commute.
The scary part was driving around pedestrians. The vehicle made no noise! People were forever stepping in front of you or nearly doing so. Driving thru a downtown area required a skilled set of eyes in the shotgun seat to identify and avoid potential accident victims that the driver might miss, er....not see.
