Always......The horror stories about Jiffy type places are well founded.
I use a very well made set of plastic ramps and do all my own changes. I then know what goes in. If, and I do in all the family cars, you use full synthetic then your only looking at every 8-10k miles.
Side note: My wife has a 740il BMW and went to the dealer for a coolant flush and a oil change. I had a week long business trip and she just had to have it done then. The expansion tank showed it had "green" coolant so I told the dealer what I saw and he agreed it was in need of a flush and to use a BMW approved cooland. I sugested he might use Zerox Z-05 as used by M/B, if approved by Bmw. Anyway the car was returned and low and behold the expansion tank was full of the dreaded Green stuff. For those of you that havn't been to a big dealer service center yet here is what happens. First you talk with a "Service Consultant" no getting near the service manager. He explained to me that it was inpossible to get all the previous fluid out during a flush. I suggested that perhaps the tech had not drained or flushed the block and only drained the raidiator. There was no sign of any other color in the fluid other than green. They offered to do it again. It does make you wonder however. This is a high end M/B, BMW and Volvo dealer.
Sorry for being so long winded....a good set of plastic ranps as they sell in AutoZone make an oil change fairly easy on our Saabs.
