WOT: Bringing up PDA vs. PPC again, owner's advice?

So I read the conversation held a year ago on this topic, and we all know what a year means in computer development.
I'm considering getting a Handheld device. My priorities are: MP3's, MS Excel, Bluetooth, and durability. Possibly an upgrade to a navigational system when more money falls from the sky. I'm trying to keep it under $400.
From what I can see, it's PalmOne vs. HP. So far the runners-up are PalmOne T3, HP h2210, PalmOne Zire72, and HP rx3115. I like the PalmOne's but could not test them with a spreadsheet as the interpreting software was not loaded. I have an HP printer, and it makes me angry just looking at it, and dubious of buying more of their products. Also, I'm wary of being patronized by another "Windows" product.
Any comment/experience with these issues?
Thanks,
Adam
