on cars? I was trying to sell an old rust bucket that I possess - and got a ticket for my efforts. I also got a ticket for not having a State inspection sticker on my car. This was a couple of months ago. Anyway, I refused to pay the fines on principle, and obviously got penalised over and above the original $80 to $120. So, I wrote a letter to the county, explaining that the reason I didn't have
1. the State Inspection was because the car had failed the inspection (broken headlight) - but, it was not being driven, therefore did not pose a threat to anyone.
2. How is one supposed to sell a car without a 'FOR SALE' sign.
Result - I got a court date.
Should I just pay up ($120) or fight it in court? (if I lose, I pay court fees plus the fines)
Thanks for reading.
