File a police report and make it known who think caused the damage to your car. You never know, your good friend might get charged with hit and run. This esentially happened apart from the business, I don't think that your boss can fire you for something that is not of the business in the business environment, that would be wrongful termination. Also if you do take this guy, who probably hit your car, to court I believe that your burden is only to prove beyond a reasonable doubt, I am might be wrong on this though. It wouldn't hurt to call a lawyer and use one of their free consultations. If all else fails and you get fired, or this guy gets away with it or both, key key his truck one night while he is at the strip club and his wife and kids are at home. Then when he confronts you about it just tell him that he should have taken the train.
