I used to live near Birmingham, Al. and in the city limits they have similar laws. There was a guy there that did restorations, he always had one in his garage working on it, one in the front yard to go next and one in the back yard. He kept other cars-in-waiting at his brother's place outside of town. This allowed him to look at the next project, plan and have parts ordered on time when the present project was finished.
The neighbors groused for years, until finally they complained to the city and the city made him remove the ones in his yard. Now, he just has the present project car in his garage.
His solution (revenge) you ask? He went to the hardware store and bought about 12 different color house paints. Next, under the cover of darkness, he painted his house in mult-colored stripes!!!! The neighbors awoke the next morning and went into a major howl, it made the state papers and everything. The city couldn't do anything about it as he is allowed to paint his house any color he wants, eyesore laws only apply to broken down houses, so the neighbors were stuck. He left it that way for about 3 months and then repaited it. I'll not forget that one for a long time.
