It really just depends on the alignment of everything. In my 1987 900S, the backup lights would come on every time I shifted into 5th gear. I later fixed this by slightly altering the alignment of the shifter. The same goes for disfunctional backup lights, as I also once had it where the backup lights wouldn't come on no matter where the shifter was. Again, a little alignment issue that was resolved. In reference to the point of your posting...yes, it can be great fun. :-) Drive safely, and KEEP ON SAABING!!!
