I kind of like the new tv spots where they show uniformity and then point out how saab is differnt. They are amusing, but they need 10 of them instead of the same two I keep seeing.
I would think that most saab buyers are 30-50 professionals. The whole "pot bellied pig", "pet turtle", "crazy color lady" bits seem trite and non-unique. Isn't having a funny pet the cliche of a unique person? I mean, it's not unique or strange to have a pet pig (80,000 are sold in the US each year as pets). These ads seem targeted to 16-25 year olds who aren't interested in saab because of cost, lower gas mileage (than honda, toyota) and small engines (compared to infiniti, acura).
It's hard to focus on truly unique people because every other product is spotlighting the parapalegic rock climber or whatever.
All this being said, I have noticed how 9-3 (non convertable) drivers are pretty ugly as a driving subset. Myself included, it is pretty strange. In Atlanta, almost every time I see a 9-3 driver, they are ugly.
