Hi Todd, not sure where you are looking but Stamford is a 50 minute (express) train ride from NYC. Real estate prices are outrageous! Things have appreciated very rapidly. We are also looking to buy a SMALL house or a condo soon. I feel the prices will slow down slightly since interest rates are creeping up. Regardless, if you plan to live in the townhouse for several years i think you cant go wrong. However, IMO if you are only going to be in it for 1-2 years it might actually be smarter to rent! my wife agrees and she is a realtor! If you are interested in this area my wife would be happy to give you info or show you some townhouses. Even if you are working with someone already and have questions about neighborhood feel free to e-mail me. Good luck!
