Thats the funny paradox of the truck based SUV craze. They are something like 1/3 cheaper to produce and their profit margin is 15% higher than other segments. I am assuming that they are cheaper to produce because they aren't held to the same standards and accountability that cars are for things like safety, emissions and fuel efficiency.
