I'm not an expert on these things, but my inlaws camp has a propane toilet. After a certain number of days, they "burn it off" and it's ready for use again. I have no idea what it costs. The place is too close to the lake for a septic system. The burning process doesn't have a bathroom odor (more of a mild wood/earth odor). Using it is not as "out of sight - out of mind" as a regular toilet, but many times nicer than an outhouse. (which is another alternative for a camp) The toilet has to be good since it's indoors.
